Welsh-Speaking 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Pontypridd
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Welsh-speaking 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a friendly and inclusive school in Pontypridd.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs (ALN)

  • Support learning, communication, and emotional wellbeing through the medium of Welsh

  • Work closely with the class teacher, ALNCo, and support staff

  • Follow and contribute to individual support plans

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • The ability to communicate confidently in Welish (essential)

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 or ALN support role

  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach

  • Good teamwork and communication skills

  • An understanding of ALN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs (desirable but not essential)
