About the Role:
- Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely and professionally, complying with all local and national transport regulations.
- Complete scheduled UK wide collection and delivery routes, ensuring punctual, efficient, and reliable service.
- Carry out thorough pre trip, enroute, and post trip vehicle checks, reporting any defects in line with company and legal requirements.
- Secure loads correctly using ratchet straps and safe manual handling techniques to protect goods and ensure safe transit.
- Use a handheld PDA to complete all delivery and collection documentation quickly and accurately.
- Communicate regularly with the transport team, providing progress updates and supporting smooth operational flow.
- Liaise professionally with customers both in person and over the phone to maintain excellent service standards.
- Take part in regular training sessions to stay current with industry standards and continuously develop your skills.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
