Role: Company Secretarial Assistant Manager
Location: Brighton (with the option of Haywards Heath and/or Horsham)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Some flexibility)
Pay: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Company Secretarial Assistant Manager to join one of our longstanding clients, a fast-growing accountancy and professional services firm supporting businesses and individuals across Sussex and Surrey.
This role will support the delivery and development of company secretarial and governance services to a varied client portfolio, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while supporting the growth of the company secretarial function.

The Requirements:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified CGI (formerly ICSA) member, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of UK company law, particularly the Companies Act 2006
- Significant experience within a company secretarial role
- Experience working within an accountancy or professional services environment desirable
- Experience managing client relationships and portfolios
- Experience preparing and reviewing company secretarial documentation
- Previous experience supervising or reviewing junior team members' work
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using Companies House electronic filing systems and Microsoft Office
The Role:
- Manage a portfolio of company secretarial clients including private companies, groups, LLPs and SMEs
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including confirmation statements, statutory registers and PSC requirements
- Prepare and review company secretarial documentation including board minutes, shareholder resolutions and corporate actions
- Manage Companies House filings and maintain compliance calendars
- Provide practical guidance to clients on governance and company law matters
- Support corporate transactions, restructures and due diligence projects
- Supervise and mentor Company Secretarial Administrators
- Support billing, WIP management and fee estimates
- Ensure compliance with AML, KYC and data protection requirements
- Liaise with clients, Companies House, HMRC, banks, solicitors and other professional advisers
- Contribute to process improvements and service development initiatives
