Are you a highly organised, proactive administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We’re recruiting a Business Support Officer to provide vital day-to-day support to the Children, Young People and Community Development (CYPCD) department within a Wembley-based local authority.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the Business Support Team, you’ll ensure services run smoothly by providing high-quality administrative and business support. Your role will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for the team — professionally handling calls, emails and correspondence
- Providing full admin support including scheduling meetings, preparing papers and minute-taking
- Managing financial administration such as purchase orders, invoices and client payments
- Monitoring shared inboxes and ensuring responses meet statutory deadlines
- Maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets and producing regular and ad-hoc reports
- Liaising confidently with internal teams and external partners to resolve queries
- Preparing and managing files in line with Data Protection requirements
- Handling sensitive information with discretion and supporting petty cash processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and promote a self-serve culture
- Supporting statutory returns and maintaining compliance with council policies
- Always working with safeguarding, equality and customer care at the forefront
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be an experienced administrator who can hit the ground running in a busy, information-sensitive environment. Proficient Minute taking experience and having worked in a Social Care setting and Local Authority is essential.
Essential requirements include:
- Local government or public-sector administrative experience
- Proven experience providing business support in a busy setting
- Confident minute-taker with strong experience
- Strong data management skills with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Advanced ability in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation skills
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes
- A genuine team player who contributes positively to shared goals
