Talent STEM are partnering with an established manufacturing business in Newcastle seeking a Shift Maintenance Electrical Technician to join their engineering team.
This hands-on role involves maintaining and improving production equipment within a 24/7 manufacturing environment, supporting equipment reliability, minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
– Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
– Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery
– Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics
– Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems
– Assist with equipment installations and commissioning
– Maintain records using the CMMS system
– Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
– Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures including LOTO and permit-to-work systems
Requirements
– Completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
– HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
– Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems
– Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and schematics
– Experience within manufacturing, production or process environments
– Knowledge of drives, Profibus or Profinet would be advantageous
– Strong communication and teamwork skills
