We are recruiting for a Senior Claims Adjuster – Engineering & Construction on behalf of a highly regarded London Market Insurer.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of claims, handling both lead and follow cases to a high technical standard from initial notification through to settlement.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling First-Party and Third-Party Liability claims originating from CAR / EAR policies from FNOL to settlement and recovery.
- Undertaking an initial evaluation of cause of loss to determine whether a claim is covered and what further information may be required.
- Deciding the Company’s response to claims, based on correct interpretation of policy and underwriting documentation.
- Assisting in the process of setting accurate, realistic and timely claim reserves.
- Maintaining accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes, preparing reports as necessary.
- Ensuring accurate entry of claims data into Company systems and assisting in the preparation of MI.
- Participating in projects or initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the department.
Key Requirements
- Proven Third-Party Liability CAR / EAR claims handling experience.
- Experience of London Company market in CAR / EAR and Engineering matters.
- Experience of JCT / LEG / DE.
- Experience of market meetings in a lead or follow capacity.
- Good general knowledge and understanding of insurance principles.
- General awareness of current regulation, case law, and market issues.
- Good working knowledge of claims portal.
- Effective time & file management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
