Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning and development consultancy in their search for a Planner to join their London office.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join one of the UK's most respected planning consultancies, working on a diverse portfolio of high-profile residential, commercial, mixed-use, regeneration, infrastructure, and urban development projects. The successful candidate will gain exposure to prestigious schemes across London and the UK while developing within a collaborative and highly regarded team.
THE ROLE
As a Planner, you will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to planning application submission, negotiation, and determination.
You will manage your own projects while supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex developments, helping clients navigate the planning process and unlock development opportunities.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Planner looking to further develop their technical expertise and client management skills within a market-leading consultancy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Managing planning applications and appeals across a range of development sectors * Undertaking planning appraisals and development feasibility assessments * Preparing planning statements, reports, and supporting documentation * Conducting planning policy research and analysis * Supporting major developments and Environmental Impact Assessment projects where required * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and stakeholders * Attending client meetings, site visits, and public consultations * Supporting business development and client relationship management activities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline * MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership * Experience within a planning consultancy, developer, or local authority environment * Strong understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical and project management abilities * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach * Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
