Assistant Headteacher – SEND School 
Are you an experienced SEND leader with a passion for curriculum development and improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs? Do you have the vision and expertise to lead a specialist pre-formal pathway for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a highly effective pre-formal curriculum, ensuring that learning is meaningful, engaging and tailored to the individual needs of every pupil.

The Role:

• Lead the strategic development of the school's pre-formal curriculum
• Ensure outstanding provision for pupils with SLD and ASC
• Support and develop teachers, Teaching Assistants and middle leaders
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across the pathway
• Monitor pupil progress and ensure personalised learning outcomes are achieved
• Work closely with therapists, families and external agencies
• Contribute to whole-school leadership and school improvement initiatives
• Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation and excellence

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Significant experience working within a SEND setting
• Strong knowledge of pre-formal learning, SLD and ASC provision
• Experience of curriculum development and implementation
• Proven leadership experience as an Assistant Headteacher, SENCO, Phase Leader or equivalent
• Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills
• A commitment to securing the very best outcomes for pupils with complex needs
