Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing robust month end controls and processes from scratch
- Preparing management accounts, including KPIs, variance analysis, P&L, budgets, balance sheet, and cashflow forecasts
- Overseeing investment portfolio reporting
- Producing statutory accounts for review
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations
- Leading the month end close, ensuring ledgers are posted accurately and on time
- Supporting and supervising the finance team’s day-to-day activities
What you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role (Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar)
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or late-stage studier
- Strong technical accounting skills, especially around statutory accounts and year end audit
- Experience in the charity or education sector is a bonus, but not essential
- Comfortable learning new systems and improving processes
