Teaching Assistant – SEN School
Location: DE13
Salary: £92.63 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are working with a welcoming specialist school in the DE13 area that supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, communication difficulties, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and associated social, emotional and behavioural needs.
The school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide tailored support to pupils both in and out of the classroom.
The Role
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Supporting pupils with communication, social skills and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
