About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leyland from September 2026. This is a full-time, ongoing position supporting a child in Reception on a 1:1 basis who has general SEND needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and making a real difference to a child’s learning and development.
Key Details
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:20pm
- Lunch Break: 30 minutes
- Pay: £14.63 per hour
- Duration: Ongoing, with the potential to become permanent
- Start Date: 1st September 2026
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with general SEND
- Assist with learning activities in line with the EYFS curriculum
- Support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback where required
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an EYFS or primary school setting
- Understanding of SEND and strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) desirable but not essential
