The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) are looking for Project Managers to support the delivery of varied digital, technology and business change projects that improve services for customers, colleagues and the wider public. About role
As a Project Manager, you will support and manage the delivery of programmes, projects and workstreams across DVLA. You may lead medium-risk, medium-complexity projects yourself, or work as part of a wider team supporting larger projects and programmes.
You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver digital, technology and business change projects, bringing structure to delivery, planning in detail and working collaboratively to achieve business outcomes. DVLA is particularly interested in people who enjoy delivering change through technology, whether that involves the software delivery cycle, infrastructure changes or wider service improvements.
You will also help champion the Project & Portfolio Management profession, contributing to good delivery practice and supporting successful change across DVLA.

Responsibilities
- Project Management: Day-to-day management and leadership of the project and the project team for the projects they are responsible for delivering. Set project controls. Design the project structure appropriate to stage. Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies.
- Stakeholder Management: Identify key stakeholders and develop effective relationships.
- Risks and Issues: Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
- Change management: Ensure effective change management processes are in place, as appropriate for low to moderate-risk/low to moderate-complexity projects, to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
- Project performance and controls: Build Project Plan and apply appropriate project principles to deliver stated objectives. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Track and report delivery against milestones.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in project delivery, change management or an operational environment, with an understanding of how change is delivered successfully.
- Broad change delivery experience, ideally involving business change, technology change, IT services or customer-facing service improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to build relationships and engage people comfortably at different levels.
- Resilient and adaptable approach, with experience managing changing priorities, ambiguity and varied workloads.
- Confidence to work with autonomy, organise and prioritise tasks, support larger-scale projects and take the lead on medium-scale projects.

Hybrid working includes 60% in-office working per month from Swansea, typically 3 days per week, with flexible working hours.

This role requires BPSS clearance, a condition of which is to have been present in the UK for 3 out of the past 5 years.
