Right Now Group are recruiting for an Import Coordinator to join a well-established international freight forwarder based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Air or Ocean Imports who is looking to manage shipments end-to-end within a supportive and stable business. If you are confident in one mode of transport, full training can be provided on the other.
The Role – Import Coordinator
You will be responsible for coordinating import shipments from start to finish, ensuring cargo is moved efficiently, compliantly, and in line with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities of an Import Coordinator

Managing Air Freight and/or Ocean Freight import shipments from initiation through to final delivery (training available on one mode if required)

Preparing and processing import documentation, including:

Bills of Lading
-
Air Waybills
-
Customs entries
-

Liaising with shipping lines, airlines, overseas agents, hauliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely movement of freight

Coordinating customs clearance processes accurately and efficiently

Providing clear, proactive updates to customers and maintaining strong client relationships

Ensuring all shipments comply with import regulations and customer requirements

Using CargoWise to manage job files and shipment processing

Supporting the wider operations team as required
What We're Looking For in an Import Coordinator

Previous experience in import freight operations (Air or Ocean)

Confidence managing shipments end-to-end

Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills

Experience using a freight forwarding system (CargoWise highly desirable)

A proactive individual looking to develop and progress within a stable forwarding business
