We have an excellent opportunity with a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Brighouse to join as a manager of the accounts preparation department.
The firm is looking for the appointed practice trained accountant to oversee the delivery of high-quality accounting services to a varied client portfolio. This is a non-audit position, focused on accounts, client advisory, and team management.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the accounts team, acting as a key link between the team and the practice owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising a team of accountants and support staff
- Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax computations
- Ensuring compliance with professional standards and deadlines
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and development support to junior team members
- Acting as a point of contact for clients, offering clear and proactive advice
- Reporting directly to the practice owners on team performance, workflow, and client matters
- Supporting the overall efficiency and growth of the practice
The ideal candidate will be an experienced practice professional who is a manager or looking to step up in to a managerial role and is comfortable working in a leadership capacity and is passionate about delivering excellent service.
Key requirements:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or suitably qualified by experience
- Strong background within a UK accountancy practice
- Proven experience in reviewing accounts and managing staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
