We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead our Quality teams, ensuring the safety, legality, and quality of our products. This role is crucial for providing specialist support and strategic input to achieve both factory and business objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as the Department Head for Quality Assurance and Laboratory, controlling budgets and setting strategic direction.
- Provide a support service to the manufacturing operation to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, food safety, and legal requirements.
- Promote a Quality culture within the business and provide technical support to factory and business projects.
- Lead activities to drive quality and efficiency improvements.
- Establish positive relationships with relevant Regulatory Authorities.
- Ensure that specifications and HACCP principles are in place to deliver safe products.
- Lead the Central Laboratory function to establish comprehensive, cost-effective testing regimes in support of HACCP verification and demonstration of ‘due diligence’.
- Maintain an intake control system for materials used in food manufacture.
- Provide risk evaluations and expert advice to support serious incident management.
- Maintain awareness of emerging issues and relevant legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in HACCP, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Quality Assurance systems.
- Strong process and data analysis skills.
- General management experience including budgeting, presentations, and team management.
- Degree or HND/HNC in a relevant discipline.
- Relevant experience in a food technical management role.
