Assistant Client Accountant
Location: Nottingham City Centre
Salary: £26,000+ Study Support (AAT)
Hybrid Working Available Following Probation
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated individual to join a growing Client Accounting team as an Assistant Client Accountant.
This role would suit someone looking to build a long-term career within finance and accounting. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Client Accountants and Senior Client Accountants, gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities while receiving ongoing training and development.
The business is keen to invest in the right individual and is happy to provide support towards AAT qualifications, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting knowledge and progress within a professional finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a collaborative Client Accounting team, you will support the delivery of financial services to a varied client portfolio, including:

Assisting with client reporting and financial administration

Supporting VAT reporting processes

Raising charges and invoices accurately and efficiently

Processing client pay-overs for rent and insurance funds once cleared

Assisting with funding requests
-
Maintaining and updating accounting systems and records
-
Recharging recoverable costs, including insurance-related charges
-
Liaising with internal finance teams and stakeholders
-
Supporting compliance, quality assurance, and internal procedures
-
Assisting with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties

Escalating complex queries to Client Accountants where required

Supporting Senior Client Accountants with day-to-day accounting activities

Learning and developing knowledge of client accounting processes and best practice

Contributing positively to team objectives and departmental success

Desirable Experience
While previous experience is advantageous, full training will be provided. The following would be beneficial:

Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word

Knowledge of VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables

Understanding of basic accounting principles

Awareness of VAT processes and financial reporting

Previous experience within an office, finance, accounts, or administration environment
