Salary: Competitive (pro rata, dependent on experience)
Job Type: Part-time (0.4 FTE)
Working Pattern: 2 days per week (or equivalent)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Science & Maths Teacher to join our Nurture Provision in Brighton on a part-time (0.4) basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support KS3 & KS4 students who require a more personalised, nurturing approach to education.

You will deliver engaging and accessible Science and Maths lessons to small groups of learners, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and re-engage with education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated Science and Maths lessons across KS3 & KS4
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with SEN/SEMH and additional needs
  • Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support students in developing core subject knowledge and confidence
  • Monitor and assess student progress, using this to inform planning
  • Implement personalised learning and intervention strategies
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Science and/or Maths at KS3 & KS4 level
  • Understanding of nurture principles, SEMH, or alternative provision (desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A flexible, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
