About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Science & Maths Teacher to join our Nurture Provision in Brighton on a part-time (0.4) basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support KS3 & KS4 students who require a more personalised, nurturing approach to education.
You will deliver engaging and accessible Science and Maths lessons to small groups of learners, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and re-engage with education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated Science and Maths lessons across KS3 & KS4
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with SEN/SEMH and additional needs
- Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
- Support students in developing core subject knowledge and confidence
- Monitor and assess student progress, using this to inform planning
- Implement personalised learning and intervention strategies
- Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Science and/or Maths at KS3 & KS4 level
- Understanding of nurture principles, SEMH, or alternative provision (desirable)
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A flexible, patient, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
