Description
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns across multiple entities within statutory deadlines
- Review invoices to ensure correct VAT treatment and maintain supporting documentation
- Complete VAT reclaims and support compliance processes
- Review payment runs and manual payments for CIS compliance
- Prepare and submit CIS returns in line with deadlines
- Support internal stakeholders with VAT and CIS related queries
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations for tax-related accounts
- Conduct sampling of expense claims to ensure policy compliance
- Assist with PAYE Settlement Agreement reporting and data gathering
- Support the Tax Manager with audits, reporting and ad hoc analysis
Profile
- Experience within finance, such as Accounts Assistant, Payroll, Purchase Ledger or similar
- Exposure to reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
- Basic understanding of VAT and/or CIS, although full training will be provided
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability
- Experience within construction or property would be advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with COINS would be beneficial, but not required
