Virtualisation Engineer (VMware/vSphere/Horizon) — SC Cleared — Nottingham
(Inside IR35) | On site 5 days | Contract to 31 March 2027 + likely extension
A central government client is looking for an experienced Virtualisation Engineer to join an established infrastructure team in Nottingham. This is a long-standing programme so it’s a genuinely stable, long-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension (6–12 months beyond March 2027).
You’ll be project-focused, building and maintaining the virtualisation estate, with some BAU and technical support as required. You’ll need to be hands-on and confident owning the platform end to end.
Essential
- Expert-level VMware — vSphere, ESXi and Horizon VDI (build, upgrade, management)
- Windows Server 2012(R2), 2016 and 2019
- HPE Servers and data centre management
- Active Directory and core networking
- Comfortable joining an on-call rota (1 week in 4)
Desirable: SCCM, Synergy
Essential — please read:
- Active SC Clearance. We need it current and transferable — unfortunately, recently lapsed clearance won’t work for this one.
- Able to work on site in Nottingham 5 days a week.
The detail: Inside IR35. Start date ideally early July (some flex to allow SC transfer). Contract initially to 31 March 2027.
