Job Title: SENCo
Location: Red Kite School, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, HP27 0JW
Hours: 40 per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am – 4.00pm
Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role

As we continue to grow and develop our specialist provision, we are seeking an exceptional SENCo to join our dedicated team and play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate SEND professional to lead our inclusive practice, champion outstanding provision and work collaboratively with families, colleagues and external professionals to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to flourish.
As SENCo, you will be a key member of our school community, driving strategic development while maintaining a hands-on role supporting pupils, staff and families. You'll work at the heart of a multidisciplinary team, helping to create a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive environment where young people can reach their full potential.
You Will:
- Lead and develop the strategic direction of SEND provision across the school.
- Ensure high-quality support and effective provision for pupils with EHCPs and additional needs.
- Monitor pupil progress, analyse outcomes and coordinate interventions that help every learner succeed.
- Chair Annual Reviews, ePEPs and SEND meetings, ensuring statutory compliance and high-quality documentation.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, Local Authorities and external agencies.
- Support, coach and train colleagues to deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning.
- Maintain accurate SEND records and oversee assessment processes.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and champion a culture of inclusion, wellbeing and achievement.

- A passionate and experienced SEND leader committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people.
- Qualified with the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
- Dedicated to inclusive, child-centred and trauma-informed practice.
- A skilled collaborator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals.
- Confident using assessment, data and pupil outcomes to drive improvement and inform provision.
- An excellent communicator with strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Proactive, resilient and committed to continuous improvement.
- An advocate for inclusion who believes every pupil can succeed with the right support and opportunities.

Red Kite School is a brand-new, purpose-built independent SEN school, designed to support up to 60 pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Set in the beautiful market town of Princes Risborough, it’s a truly exciting time to join us as a founding member of staff and help shape a nurturing, inclusive learning environment from the ground up.
