This specialist setting supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, SLD, and other developmental needs. About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide supportive, nurturing learning to pupils with complex needs
- Work 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils access personalised learning
- Encourage communication, independence and emotional development
- Support children with autism and SLD using structured, therapeutic approaches
- Collaborate with class teachers, therapists and external professionals
- Help create a safe, consistent, and engaging classroom environment
What We're Looking For
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in:
- SEN settings, SEN schools or mainstream SEN support
- Working with pupils with autism, SLD or communication needs
- Care, support work or roles involving vulnerable children
- Early Years backgrounds or primary support roles
- Personal or voluntary experience with additional needs
