Garden Centre Supervisor| Isle of Man
Salary: DOE
Are you passionate about plants and looking for a hands-on role where your horticultural passion really makes a difference?
Do you enjoy working independently, taking ownership of a space, and helping customers choose the right plants for their gardens?
This could be the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, practical role in a small but busy garden centre environment.
What Will I Be Doing?
This is a very hands-on, autonomous role working within a compact outdoor plant area. You will be the go-to plant expert on site, responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the outdoor plant area, mostly working on your own.
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable advice to customers on plant selection, care, and suitability.
- Maintaining plant health through regular watering, feeding, pruning, and general upkeep.
- Merchandising and presenting plants in an attractive, commercial way despite a smaller trading space.
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation, pricing, and availability are always maintained.
- Receiving and processing plant deliveries, ensuring stock is checked, well cared for, and quickly put into saleable condition.
During the winter months, the role will flex to support the wider store, including:
- Assisting on tills and providing excellent customer service across all departments.
- Supporting indoor retail areas with merchandising and stock replenishment.
- Helping with deliveries and general store operations as required.
Who Will I Be Working For?
You'll be joining a friendly, independent garden centre on the Isle of Man with a strong community feel. The business is known for its approachable team culture, quality products, and loyal customer base.
This is a great environment for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being part of a close-knit team where everyone plays a key role.
About You
- Good plant knowledge and a genuine interest in horticulture.
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
- A practical, hands-on approach to plant care and retail standards.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to offer advice clearly and confidently.
- Willingness to be flexible and support wider store operations during quieter seasons.
- Previous garden centre or horticultural retail experience would be highly beneficial.
