A well-established and friendly accountancy practice based in Upminster is seeking a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join their growing team.
This is a great opportunity for an AAT qualified or part-qualified candidate looking to develop their career within a supportive practice environment, working with a varied portfolio of clients.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Bookkeeping for a wide range of clients
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Assisting with accounts preparation to trial balance stage
- Supporting with payroll processing
- Liaising directly with clients to provide day-to-day support
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance
The Candidate:
You will ideally have:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified status
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT
- Experience preparing accounts to trial balance
- Payroll experience (desirable but not essential)
- Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive and professional approach
