Lecturer in Plumbing & Heating Engineering

Salary: Up to £24,819 per annum + £5,500 Specialist Skills Shortage Bonus (Pro Rata)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week
The Role
A leading Further Education provider is seeking a Plumbing & Heating Engineering Lecturer to join its Construction department on a part-time basis.
This opportunity would suit either an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to transition into education. You'll deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Plumbing & Heating programmes, helping learners develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required for a successful career in the industry.
Working across full-time programmes and apprenticeships, you'll support learners both in the workshop and classroom, ensuring they are equipped with current industry standards, regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Plumbing & Heating lessons
- Teach and assess learners across full-time courses and apprenticeship programmes
- Support students in developing industry-standard skills and safe working practices
- Embed current regulations, sustainability principles and industry developments into delivery
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, safeguarding and professionalism
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing
- Gas competency
- Industry experience within Plumbing & Heating Engineering
- Assessor and IQA qualifications desirable, or willingness to work towards them
- Strong practical knowledge of current industry regulations and standards
- Experience supporting, mentoring or coaching others
- Teaching qualification desirable but not essential, with full support available to achieve one
