Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy warehouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on warehouse professional with strong leadership skills, a commitment to health and safety, and experience managing warehouse operations, shipments, and materials handling equipment.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 6:00pm / Sunday to Thursday, 9:30am – 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and prioritise daily warehouse workloads to meet operational deadlines.
- Supervise warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments.
- Load and unload vehicles and containers safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment as required.
- Carry out warehouse administration duties, including receipt and booking-in of shipments using warehouse management systems.
- Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Conduct regular warehouse inspections, health and safety checks, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain the physical security of the warehouse and its contents.
- Liaise with warehouse staff, drivers, import/export teams, management, and third-party transport providers.
- Assist with problem-solving and operational issues as they arise.
- Maintain ETSF records and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Occasionally drive company vehicles for the collection and delivery of cargo.
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role.
- Valid and current Forklift Truck Licence.
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Accurate, methodical, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to identify and resolve operational issues effectively.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and administration tasks.
