We are currently recruiting on behalfof our client for an exciting opportunity for an Air Imports Export Supervisor to join a dynamic Air Freight team . This is a fantastic role where you will play a key part in driving operational excellence and delivering a first-class service to global customers.
As the Air Imports Supervisor within the International Freight Forwarding Operations (IFFO) customs team, you will lead, develop, and support a high-performing team, ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining service quality across a fast-paced 24/7 operational environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead, coach, and supervise the IFFO customs team to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures
- Manage daily workloads and delegate tasks effectively to meet deadlines and service levels
- Oversee customs formalities for all air freight import and export shipments
- Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks
- Support branch teams by embedding compliant processes and best practice
- Monitor shipments in transit and ensure timely delivery progression
- Deliver excellent customer service through clear and proactive communication
- Take ownership of cost control and P&L, identifying efficiencies and savings
- Collaborate across departments to support smooth 24/7 operational coverage
What we’re looking for:
You will have proven experience in air Export imports, ideally within logistics, customs, or freight forwarding operations, along with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of import and export customs processes across multimodal operations is essential, along with a solid understanding of compliance requirements and customs regulations.
You will be a confident communicator, natural problem solver, and commercially aware individual who can manage costs and drive efficiencies in a fast-paced environment.
Additional requirements:
- Must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years (security clearance requirement)
- Experience within healthcare, aerospace, or general freight sectors would be advantageous, but not essential
