Role
Experienced Residential Property Legal Assistant required to join a busy Private Property Department at a well-established regional law firm. The role is based in the Shrewsbury office and involves providing direct support to a Property Solicitor managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to a Property Solicitor
- Assist with the management of residential conveyancing files from initial instruction to post-completion
- Prepare, review, and process legal documentation accurately and within required timeframes
- Liaise directly with clients via telephone, email, and in-person meetings, delivering a high standard of service
- Communicate with third parties including lenders, estate agents, and other solicitors
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on case management systems and file notes
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
- Manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Support general office and departmental administrative tasks as required
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in residential conveyancing (essential)
- Previous experience in a legal assistant or conveyancing support role
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to handle client-facing interactions professionally
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy caseload with strict deadlines
- Proficient in MS365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Experience with legal case management systems desirable but not essential
- Strong team player with a proactive and adaptable approach
- Commitment to delivering high levels of client service
