We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our team. This role involves providing efficient and effective support to both internal and external customers, ensuring smooth operations across various departments within our Licensing Hub. This includes Building Control, Development Control, Parking Services, Environmental Services, Planning Records & Enquiries, and Service Support.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support and contribute to Information Systems and office administration.
- Assist in meetings and events, including note-taking and recording action points.
- Handle purchasing of goods and services.
- Manage a busy telephone line, addressing basic queries and taking messages.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post and manage printing needs.
- Engage in document management and provide information or signposting as needed.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the service area.
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement across the service.
- Provide business support to other teams within the Hub as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages and experience in learning new IT systems.
- Proven experience working in a busy office environment.
- Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and tact.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility to work at various locations away from the normal base.
- Demonstrated commitment, enthusiasm, and adaptability.
