Our client, a well-established leading building contractor, have an excellent opportunity for either an Estimator or a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing construction business. With offices based in Verwood, they provide accredited building services to clients throughout the corporate, commercial and public sectors.

We are looking for an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with experience within the construction industry and calculating costs for large projects.

Duties to include:

  • Reading drawings and completing detailed measurements for tenders
  • Obtaining quotes for all scope requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers within a specified time frame
  • Collating detailed price lists for everything needed on each tender
  • Calculating the cost of materials, labour, and prelims for tendered scope
  • Compiling tender submissions and issuing to potential clients in a timely manner
  • Presenting bids to clients and answering their mid and post-tender queries
  • Making use of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, and Microsoft suite
  • Attending meetings and site visits with potential clients
  • Build, influence, and maintain relationships with key internal and external Stakeholders
  • Lead and provide guidance and estimating expertise at Bid, Project, Commercial, and customer reviews and meetings and support negotiations

Requirements:

  • Experience within a similar role within the building and construction industry – Estimating for large projects
  • Good overall knowledge of the building industry
  • Degree educated would be advantageous
  • Full Drivers Licence
  • Confident with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and deal with multiple demands

This role is based in Verwood, Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm and onsite parking is available.
