Material Handler I

Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
Pay Rate: £13.20/hour

We are seeking a Material Handler I to join our team in Perth for a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, detail-oriented professional to build foundational supply chain skills in a supportive, safety-first environment. You will receive structured entry-level training with a clear path to advance your operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Material Handler I, you will work with minimal supervision to ensure our pick-and-pack operations run smoothly and accurately. Your daily tasks will include:

Order Fulfillment: Picking and packing UK and export customer orders accurately, as well as presenting raw and packaging materials for our production departments.

System Tracking: Using SAP to check stock levels and log the completion of orders.

Safety & Quality: Conducting daily "Safe 4 Work" and "Safe 2 Start" checks on your work area and equipment (including ladders and mechanical handling equipment). You will actively participate in maintaining a hazard-free workplace.

Team Collaboration: Participating in Tier 1 shift reviews, communicating openly with team members, and flagging any issues or process errors immediately to the Senior Operator.

Continuous Improvement: Engaging with your personalized training plan to become fully flexible across various warehouse roles, with the drive to reach Band 2 Operative level.
Working Conditions

Active warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including spending up to 60% of your time in cold room temperatures (down to 2°C).

Occasional outdoor work while loading trucks.

Physical handling requirements: Standing/walking for up to 4 hours at a time, lifting items up to 7.5kg, and utilizing material handling equipment to push/pull picking carts (up to 125kg) and pallet trucks (up to 500kg).
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications & Attributes:

Education: At least 4 Standard Grades (or equivalent), ideally including Mathematics.

Technical Skills: Computer literate with the ability to learn new software (SAP training provided).

Process Mindset: Exceptional ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately and identify errors or issues quickly.

Soft Skills: Highly reliable and dependable, self-starting, focused on personal development, and able to communicate effectively within a team.
Desirable Criteria:

A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck License is a distinct advantage, though not strictly required.
