Location: Warwickshire County Council
Salary up to £50269 plus £3500 market supplement
Roles available at the following levels:
Social Worker, Senior Social Worker, Advanced Social Worker, Consultant Social Worker

About You

  • You will hold a qualification in Social Work  
  • You will have completed your assisted year of learning – ASYE
  • You will have excellent communication skills when working in complex situations with vulnerable people
  • You will have an excellent ability to assess needs and situations
  • You will be up to date with current legislation and the current complex climate.

As a Social Worker in Families First team you will:

  •  Have a Statutory Responsibility and Manage children under Child Protection Plans, Looked After Children (in care), and Children in Need.
  • Handle a varied, highly complex, and challenging caseload requiring original thinking and tailored solutions.
  • Conduct complex assessments of need and risk to devise outcome-focused support plans.
  • Identify, source, and regularly review services to ensure they meet the eligible needs of vulnerable families.
  • Participate in the local authority duty system and conduct child protection investigations under appropriate supervision.
  • Attend strategy meetings, legal proceedings, and Child Protection conferences.
  • Write court reports, statutory reviews, and detailed child protection reports.
  • Lead the safeguarding response with managerial oversight during conferences and reviews.

Requirements of you as the Social Worker:

  • Social Work England registration 
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) 
  • A full UK driving licence 
  • DBS clearance 
  • Authority to work in the UK

  • Annual leave entitlement is based on your terms and conditions (including hours and grade) plus bank holidays and an additional day at Christmas. You are entitled to a minimum of 28 days leave each year (pro rata if part time).
