Laboratory Support (Part-Time)
Location: Warrington
Contract Type: Temporary (Approx. 9 months)
Start Date: End of July
Pay Rate: Minimum wage- (negotiable depending on experience)
Working Pattern: Part-time – approximately 2 mornings per week (flexible days, Monday-Thursday). Typical hours may be 9:00-12:00 or 10:00-14:00.
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Lab Chemist to assist a small team for a temporary. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity providing essential support to ensure the smooth running and organisation of the laboratory.
This role would suit someone with previous laboratory exposure who is confident working in a lab environment and understands health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laboratory
- Wash and manage glassware and equipment
- Ensure chemicals and materials are stored correctly
- Support stock control and ordering of laboratory consumables
- Assist with general laboratory organisation and housekeeping
Person SpecificationEssential:
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment
- Understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures
- Ability to follow established policies and practices
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
Desirable:
- Scientific background (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, or similar)
- Experience handling samples or preparing solutions
- Confidence carrying out routine lab tasks

- Flexibility around working days and hours can be accommodated
- There is potential for the role to expand to include additional laboratory duties depending on capability
