Tiger Recruitment

Head Housekeeper (Live-In), Oxfordshire
Start:
ASAP
Accommodation:
Private, beautiful fully self-contained independent accommodation on the estate with beautiful views, provided exclusively for the housekeeper’s use.
Salary: £50,000

Tiger Private is seeking an experienced Head Housekeeper to oversee the running and presentation of a beautiful, newly fully refurbished manor house finished to the highest standards.

The residence is set within extensive grounds, with additional buildings including a pool house and barn conversions. The estate is supported by 24/7 security and multiple grounds staff.

The property is currently used as a summer residence, with the family in occupation Friday to Sunday and during school holidays, with a view to transition to full-time residency in the near future.

Role Summary:

This truly is a fantastic opportunity- the Head Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards across the main residence and associated buildings, ensuring the home is consistently presented in immaculate condition.

The property is finished to an extremely high specification, so experience working with fine materials, precious stone, and high-end finishes is essential.

The role includes full housekeeping, laundry management, light family cooking support, and informal assistance during periods of residence.

This position requires a calm, discreet, and highly capable individual with many years of proven experience in high-end private households, and strong knowledge of maintaining luxury interiors. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and maintaining exceptionally high standards without supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full housekeeping of a high-end private residence to exacting standards
  • Care of luxury interiors, fine materials, and bespoke finishes within a newly refurbished property
  • Comprehensive laundry and wardrobe management (multiple machines and dryers)
  • Light cooking support and assistance with family meals during residence
  • Preparation of the house prior to arrival and full reset after departure
  • Informal hosting support during family stays (occasional guest service, BBQ assistance)
  • Oversight of household supplies and internal organisation
  • Maintenance of standards across main house and ancillary buildings
  • Independent management of duties when the family is not in residence

Working Pattern:

  • During residence (Friday–Sunday + school holidays): full housekeeping and household support required
  • Non-residence periods: flexible structure with two mid-week days off, provided all duties are completed to a consistently exceptional standard
  • Flexibility required as the household transitions toward full-time residence

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in UHNW or high-end private households as Head or Senior Housekeeper
  • Strong knowledge of luxury homes, fine materials, and high-value interiors
  • Proven ability to maintain exceptionally high standards in newly refurbished or high-spec properties
  • Calm, discreet, and highly reliable
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Warm, professional manner suitable for a family environment with children
  • Comfortable with modern household systems and technology
  • Driving licence beneficial but not essential

Additional Information:

  • Private, fully self-contained independent accommodation provided on the estate
  • Secure estate with 24/7 security presence
  • Additional grounds and security staff on site
  • Long-term opportunity within a newly refurbished, high-standard private estate
