Key Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver tailored, small-group interventions in literacy and numeracy to boost pupil attainment.

Provide 1:1 support for children with additional learning needs (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Assist the classroom teacher with resource preparation, display creation, and behaviour management.

Foster an inclusive, encouraging learning environment where pupils feel safe and confident.

Supervise pupils during structured lesson transitions, break times, and educational school trips.

Monitor student engagement and feedback observations directly to the class teacher.
Requirements for the Role

Previous experience working with children (e.g., in schools, nurseries, youth clubs, or tutoring).

A minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

A compassionate, patient demeanour paired with excellent communication skills.

A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one).

High adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting classroom dynamics.
