Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: September 2026
Overview
We are looking for an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils in English Language and Literature. This role is suitable for graduates aspiring to pursue a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in English lessons across KS3-KS5
- Deliver targeted literacy intervention sessions (reading, writing, comprehension)
- Assist teachers with planning, marking support, and classroom activities
- Encourage engagement with literature and creative writing
- Provide 1:1 academic support where required
Requirements
- A degree in English, Literature, or a related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for education and student development
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people
- Previous school experience is advantageous but not essential
