We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Head of School to support the leadership of a high-performing Construction and Motor Vehicle provision within a forward-thinking Further Education environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and strategic leader to play a key role in shaping curriculum delivery, driving quality improvement, and ensuring outstanding outcomes for learners.
The Role
As Deputy Head of School, you will work closely with the Head of School to provide both strategic and operational leadership across a range of curriculum areas. You will take responsibility for the effective delivery and performance of programmes, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading on curriculum planning, delivery, and development across Construction and Motor Vehicle provision
- Managing recruitment, enrolment, retention, achievement, and progression outcomes
- Driving quality assurance and improvement, including SARs, QIPs, and Ofsted readiness
- Monitoring and analysing performance data to inform interventions and raise standards
- Ensuring compliance with ESFA, funding, safeguarding, and quality frameworks
- Supporting staff development, performance management, and team leadership
- Developing strong employer partnerships and aligning provision to local and regional skills needs
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has significant experience in Further Education leadership, ideally within Construction and/or Motor Vehicle
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of curriculum management, quality assurance, and funding requirements
- Has a proven track record of improving learner outcomes and driving quality improvement
- Is an effective and inspiring leader of people, with experience managing teams and performance
- Can combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery
- Holds a teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one)
