Prospero Teaching
Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated SEN Specialist Tutors to provide up to 10-15 hours of 1:1 tuition per week to children and young people in Coventry who are currently out of school, awaiting specialist placements, or require additional support to access education.
We support learners from Primary through to Post-16, many of whom have complex needs, including:
- Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Physical disabilities and complex medical needs
- Communication and interaction needs
- Sensory processing difficulties
This role requires an individual who can adapt learning to highly personalised needs, delivering engaging sessions that promote both educational progress, communication skills, and independence.
Tuition takes place in homes (with a responsible adult present), libraries, community settings, or other approved venues, with full support, resources, and progress tracking provided by our Learning Delivery Team.

- Type: Contract – Face-to-face tuition
- Start: ASAP | Duration: Ongoing
- Hours: Up to 10-15 per week (flexible)
- Rate: £22-£30 per hour (dependent on experience)
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- Experience supporting complex SEN, including PMLD, GDD, and physical needs
- Experience with learners from primary to post-16
- Ability to deliver personalised learning programmes aligned to EHCP outcomes
- Knowledge of communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC) desirable
- Understanding of sensory needs and physical disabilities
- Relevant qualification (QTS/PGCE/SEN) desirable
To be eligible, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Provide two child-related references from the last two years
