A respected and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Lawyer or Conveyancer to join its established Residential Property team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will manage their own residential conveyancing caseload while working alongside experienced colleagues within a collaborative environment. Applications are welcomed from Solicitors, Licensed Conveyancers, Chartered Legal Executives, experienced Conveyancers, and career Paralegals with substantial residential property experience.

The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters from instruction through to completion and post-completion, providing clear and practical advice to clients throughout the transaction process.
Matters will include:

Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
-
Remortgages
-
Transfers of equity
-
New build transactions
-
Shared ownership matters
-
Help to Buy transactions
-
Right to Buy matters
-
First registrations
-
Unregistered land matters
-
Property refinancing
-
High-value and complex residential transactions
You will work closely with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers, developers, HM Land Registry, and other solicitors to ensure transactions progress efficiently and smoothly.
Key Responsibilities

Managing a residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to registration.

Providing high-quality legal advice and support to clients.
-
Conducting title investigations and reviewing legal documentation.
-
Drafting and negotiating contracts and related documents.
-
Preparing reports on title and advising on legal risks.
-
Liaising with clients and third parties throughout transactions.
-
Handling exchanges, completions, and post-completion work.
-
Managing Land Registry applications and registrations.
-
Maintaining accurate file records and case management systems.
-
Delivering excellent levels of client care.
-
Ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional requirements.
-
Adhering to SRA regulations and Conveyancing Quality Scheme protocols.

Supporting business development and networking initiatives.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be confident handling a broad range of residential conveyancing matters with minimal supervision and will demonstrate strong technical knowledge alongside excellent communication and client care skills.

Candidates should possess a minimum of four years' experience managing their own residential conveyancing caseload.
Skills and Experience

At least four years' residential conveyancing experience.

Strong knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing procedures.

Experience handling both straightforward and complex transactions.

Knowledge of freehold and leasehold conveyancing.

Understanding of HM Land Registry procedures.

Awareness of anti-money laundering and compliance requirements.

Experience using case management systems.
