Accounts Assistant

- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Hybrid after initial 6 months)
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, preparing VAT returns, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and personal tax returns. There is potential to take on payroll responsibilities in the future or from the offset if the suitable candidates possess the relevant experience. This position offers a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills and take on more responsibilities over time.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct daily bookkeeping tasks and ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Handle balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare personal tax returns for clients.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with clients to ensure their accounting needs are met.
- Use accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks to manage financial data.
- Onboard new clients and follow up to ensure a smooth process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in an accounts assistant role or similar.
- Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Xero and QuickBooks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients effectively.
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proactive in taking on new responsibilities and challenges.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
