cer Financial are working alongside an international bank, who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Real Estate Credit Analyst will include:

The responsibilities of the Real Estate Credit Analyst will include:

  1. Assess Buy-to-Let (BTL) and commercial real estate lending applications against credit policy and delegated authority limits.
  2. Support the Head of Credit in maintaining credit quality during the approval process.
  3. Review and analyse financial information and credit applications.
  4. Raise and resolve queries with Relationship Managers (RMs) within agreed turnaround times.
  5. Ensure all material issues are addressed before submission for final credit approval.
  6. Identify and escalate weaknesses or gaps in the credit approval process.
  7. Prepare and maintain credit proposals and documentation in line with internal standards.
  8. Monitor the ongoing performance and risk profile of the lending portfolio.
  9. Review monthly and quarterly portfolio reports.
  10. Prepare reports for sanctioning committees and annual credit reviews.
  11. Maintain accurate electronic credit files and track outstanding information requests.
  12. Ensure compliance with group credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  13. Liaise with Credit Administration, Finance, Compliance, Audit and other stakeholders.
  14. Support ad-hoc projects and assignments requested by the Head of Credit.
  15. Keep up to date with changes in lending regulations, policies, systems and business activities.

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Strong academic background and professional qualifications.
  2. 2–5 years' experience in commercial or real estate credit/risk management.
  3. Direct experience in credit decision-making and sanctioning processes.
  4. Experience with commercial real estate and residential lending portfolios.
  5. Exposure to sectors such as offices, hotels, student accommodation, Buy-to-Let, and residential mortgages is advantageous.
  6. Strong understanding of the UK SME lending market.
  7. Excellent financial analysis skills and ability to interpret financial statements.
  8. Good understanding of credit risk assessment, including risks and mitigants for on- and off-balance-sheet facilities.
  9. Knowledge of credit approval, portfolio monitoring and risk management practices.
  10. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential credit issues.
  11. Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
  12. Proficient in Excel, spreadsheets and database tools.
  13. Ability to work within KPI-driven turnaround times and manage multiple priorities.
