Academy Operations & Growth Lead

A-Team Academy

Academy Operations & Growth Lead
This is not an administrative role.

We are looking for a high-performing leader who takes ownership, solves problems proactively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where standards matter.

At Team Academy, we are building something exceptional.

Our mission is to help young people achieve outstanding academic outcomes while providing parents with an experience that is professional, supportive and results-driven.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Academy Operations & Growth Lead who will play a critical role in shaping the future of the academy.

You will be responsible for ensuring students, parents and tutors receive an exceptional experience whilst driving operational excellence and helping us scale sustainably.

This role is for someone who wants responsibility, accountability and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

The Opportunity

You will become the operational leader of the academy, responsible for ensuring that the academy runs smoothly, professionally and consistently at a high standard.

You will oversee:

  • Student and parent experience
  • Tutor management and support
  • Operational systems and processes
  • Student retention and engagement
  • Academy culture and standards
  • Continuous improvement initiatives

You will work directly with the Directors and play a key role in helping build a business that can operate at a world-class standard.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months:

  • Student retention improves
  • Parent satisfaction remains exceptionally high
  • Tutors feel supported, challenged and accountable
  • Operational issues are identified and resolved proactively
  • Systems become stronger and less dependent on individuals
  • The academy continues to grow whilst maintaining quality

You will not be measured by how busy you are. You will be measured by outcomes.

Who We Are Looking For

We are not looking for someone who waits to be told what to do.

We are looking for someone who naturally takes ownership.

You may come from education, operations, hospitality, customer experience, professional services or another high-performance environment.

Most importantly, you demonstrate:

Ownership

You see problems and solve them.

You don't walk past issues hoping someone else will deal with them.

Leadership

You can build trust, hold people accountable and maintain high standards without creating conflict.

Emotional Intelligence

You can communicate effectively with students, parents, tutors and colleagues, even during challenging situations.

Organisation

You are highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Continuous Improvement

You constantly look for ways to improve systems, processes and outcomes.

Essential Attributes

  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong organisational ability
  • High levels of professionalism
  • Strong judgement and decision-making
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations
  • Ability to lead without micromanaging
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • High personal standards
  • Comfortable being accountable for measurable outcomes

This Role Is NOT Suitable For Someone Who:

  • Avoids difficult conversations
  • Needs constant supervision
  • Blames others when things go wrong
  • Struggles with accountability
  • Is uncomfortable making decisions
  • Prefers routine over improvement
  • Wants a purely administrative position

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance-related bonus structure
  • Significant responsibility and autonomy
  • Direct mentorship from the Founder
  • Clear progression opportunities as the academy grows
  • The opportunity to help shape and build a high-performance organisation

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking an exceptional operational leader who combines strong people skills with outstanding organisational and leadership capability.

This role is ideally suited to someone who has experience managing teams, overseeing operations, maintaining high service standards and taking ownership of measurable outcomes. Whilst experience within education, tuition or schools is advantageous, it is not essential.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have successfully managed people, customers and operational performance in fast-paced environments ideally in education or professional customer-focused businesses.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including handling difficult conversations professionally and confidently
  • Experience owning and delivering against KPIs and performance targets
  • A track record of improving systems, processes and operational efficiency
  • Excellent judgement, organisation and problem-solving ability
  • High levels of accountability and personal ownership
  • The ability to lead with authority whilst maintaining positive relationships

Above all, we are looking for someone who takes responsibility, acts proactively and is committed to building a culture of excellence.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants more than a management role. It is an opportunity to play a key part in the growth and long-term success of Team Academy whilst developing into a senior leadership position as the organisation expands.

Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a multi-stage interview process throughout July 2026. Successful candidates will commence a structured onboarding and leadership training programme in August 2026, designed to equip them with the systems, standards and operational framework required to succeed in the role.

We are looking for exceptional people, not simply impressive CVs.

We are interested in your thinking, judgement and approach to leadership as much as your experience.

If you are excited by responsibility, thrive in high-performance environments and want to make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
