Supply Teaching Assistant

Are you experienced in supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? Looking for a role that offers flexibility, variety, and the opportunity to make a difference in multiple school settings?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across a range of primary schools throughout Cardiff, Barry, Penarth, Cowbridge and the wider Vale of Glamorgan.

No two days are the same in this role. You could be supporting a Year 1 pupil with autism one day and working within a KS2 intervention group the next. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys adapting to different environments and building positive relationships quickly.

Your Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs
• Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs and learning difficulties
• Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Encouraging pupils to engage positively with learning
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
• Recording observations and feeding back to school staff where required
• Helping create an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can succeed

• Previous experience supporting children with ALN
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to new schools and classroom environments
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
• EWC Registration (or willingness to register)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
