Join us on our new, exciting contract with Birmingham City Council
Mears Group has been awarded a major new 10-year partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver repairs, maintenance, and planned investment work across 11,500 homes in central and west Birmingham. This contract represents one of our most significant projects in the city and will create a wide range of opportunities across our operational teams.
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and organised Gas Administrator to join our dedicated team in Birmingham. You will play a key role in supporting the gas compliance and operations team, ensuring smooth administration, accurate record keeping and excellent service delivery to residents, clients and colleagues.
Duties:
- Manage and maintain gas compliance records, ensuring all servicing and safety checks are accurately recorded
- Schedule and coordinate gas servicing, breakdowns and remedial works with operatives and subcontractors
- Monitor compliance trackers to ensure all properties meet legislative requirements
- Liaise with residents to arrange appointments, providing clear communication and excellent customer service
- Raise and process works orders, ensuring all job information is accurate and up to date
- Support the wider gas and maintenance team with general administrative duties
- Track outstanding works and follow up to ensure completion within required timescales
- Work closely with supervisors and engineers to ensure efficient planning and job allocation
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all systems are updated in real time
- Respond to customer queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with reporting, audits and compliance checks
- Ensure all processes are carried out in line with company procedures and health & safety requirements
Role Criteria:
- Previous experience in a Gas Administrator role or similar position
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working in a fast paced, pressurised environment
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use job management, compliance and scheduling systems
- Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills
- A customer first approach with the ability to handle challenging situations
- Good knowledge of repairs, maintenance and gas servicing processes
