Management Accountant
Based: Swinton (4 days office, 1 home – flexible start/finish times)
Salary: circa £50k + study (if required) + benefits
Are you a qualified Management Accountant looking for a role where you can genuinely influence business performance? Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys combining robust financial reporting with operational business partnering and analysis.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management information, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving financial performance across the business. You will also have responsibility for mentoring and developing a small team whilst working closely with operational stakeholders across production, supply chain and commercial teams.
Role:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and cashflow reporting
- Analyse financial performance, investigating variances against budgets and forecasts
- Produce meaningful management information to support business decision-making
- Conduct cost analysis and profitability reviews across operations
- Partner with operational and departmental managers to improve financial performance
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Support external audit requirements and statutory reporting obligations
- Drive improvements in financial reporting, systems and processes
- Assist with ERP system development and optimisation
- Mentor and support the Finance Assistant
Experience:
- Qualified OR finalist CIMA/ACCA
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role producing management accounts
- Experience within a stock/manufacturing environment is essential
- Experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
