Qualified GCSE Tutor – Outreach (Buckinghamshire)
About the Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated GCSE Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to young people in Buckinghamshire who are currently unable to attend school due to SEN needs. Tuition will typically be 10-15 hours per week, with a focus on preparing learners to successfully sit their GCSE exams in core subjects – English, Maths and Science.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will design and deliver tailored lessons that bridge gaps in learning, rebuild confidence, and re-engage pupils who may have been out of education for an extended period. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher looking to step away from the traditional classroom and provide meaningful, individualised support.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor progress and ensure each young person receives high-quality, consistent education.
Contract / Position Details
- Location – Various locations across Buckinghamshire
- Position – Outreach GCSE Tutor
- Type of Work – 1:1 tuition (core subjects)
- Start Date – ASAP
- Duration – Ongoing, dependent on student needs
- Contract Type – Temporary
- Hours – 10-15 hours per week (typically 1-3 hours per session)
- Rate of Pay – From £25 per hour
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching GCSE English, Maths or Science
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN (highly desirable)
- Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK school setting
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (desirable)
To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
- Provide two professional references covering the last two years
