A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Commodity Buyer to join their dedicated purchasing team. You will be empowered to manage and nurture supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, drive continuous improvement across the supply chain, and oversee end-to-end procurement processes for a diverse range of materials and services. This is an onsite role with car parking available to ease your commute into the office.
What You'll Do:
As a Commodity Buyer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing relationships with UK suppliers.
- Leading Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes to secure competitive pricing for all procurement activities.
- Identifying mutually beneficial opportunities for LTA's with vendors, focusing on annual pricing structures and efficient call-off processes.
- Conducting annual pricing negotiations to ensure strategic alignment between suppliers and organisational objectives.
- Coordinating regular reviews of supplier performance both internally and externally.
- Generating and analysing complex data sets related to spend reviews, project updates, and cost-saving opportunities, and presenting those findings to management.
What You Bring:
To excel as a Commodity Buyer in this organisation, you will bring the following experience:
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment where production planning and purchasing are managed via an electronic ERP system is essential.
- Proven track record running RFQ processes from initiation through completion is required.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating long-term agreements or contracts with suppliers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels are crucial.
- Confidence combined with perseverance allows you to manage complex supply chain projects through to successful completion.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings as well as identify value engineering opportunities would be beneficial.
- Are adaptable and able to multi-task.
