A leading planning consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its growing Leeds team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner to take the next step in their career within a respected, commercially focused planning practice working on high-profile projects across the UK.
Working as part of a collaborative and well-established team, you will play a key role in delivering planning strategies and securing consents for a diverse portfolio of development projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use and strategic land.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing planning projects from inception through to determination, providing clear advice to clients and supporting junior members of the team.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing a varied portfolio of planning applications and development projects

Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals and supporting planning statements

Providing strategic planning advice to clients

Liaising with local authorities, consultants and key stakeholders

Supporting and mentoring junior planners where appropriate

Contributing to client relationship management and business development activity
About You
The successful candidate will be a motivated and commercially aware planner who is comfortable managing projects and building strong client relationships.
You will ideally have:

A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline

MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership)

Experience working within a planning consultancy or similar environment

Strong knowledge of the UK planning system

Excellent written communication and report writing skills

The ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
