Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs?
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a number of welcoming mainstream primary schools across Sheffield who are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September. We have a range of exciting long-term opportunities available for candidates who have experience supporting pupils with SEND and want to make a real difference to children's learning and development.
In these roles, you will provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop key social and emotional skills. You will work both inside the classroom alongside teachers and in smaller intervention or breakout spaces to provide focused support where it is needed most.
About the Role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and behavioural needs
- Delivering one-to-one and small group support to help children achieve their learning goals
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
- Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and positive relationships
- Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and helping them regulate their behaviour
- Creating a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment
We Are Looking For:
- An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of SEND
- Someone who has supported children with additional needs within a school or similar setting
- A patient, approachable, and resilient individual who can remain calm in challenging situations
- A confident communicator who can quickly build trust with pupils
- Someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives
