Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: King's Lynn, United Kingdom
Are you a skilled Electrical Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to join a well established international manufacturing business? Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying specialist equipment to UK and global markets, is seeking an experienced engineer to join their team in King's Lynn.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing electrical systems and controls for new and existing products.
- Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and technical documentation.
- Working closely with refrigeration, production, manufacturing, and technical teams to support product development projects.
- Programming and developing electrical and electronic control systems in collaboration with specialist partners.
- Carrying out electrical load calculations, component specification, and system design activities.
- Supporting the development of industrial networking systems and IoT connectivity solutions.
- Conducting product testing, commissioning, risk assessments, and safety evaluations.
- Ensuring compliance with UK, EU, and international electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Maintaining technical files and supporting certification requirements including CE, UKCA, and other relevant approvals.
- Providing electrical engineering support, audits, inspections, fault finding, and training across manufacturing and technical departments.
Requirements:
- HNC, HND, or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent electrical engineering qualifications.
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Installation and knowledge of BS 7671 18th Edition standards.
- Proven experience in electrical system design, development, and technical problem solving.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience producing electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical design software would be advantageous.
- Experience with product testing, commissioning, and electrical compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- A practical, hands on approach with strong attention to detail.
