Job Title: Occupational Therapist (Band 5 equivalent)
Location: Cygnet Hospital Hexham
Service Line: Female Acute/PICU
Salary Range: £32,883 – £40,028 per annum dependent on experience.
Hours: 40 hours
Contract: Permanent

Cygnet Hospital Hexham is our 27-bed mental health facility for women with complex mental health needs spanning two wards.
Fisher Ward is our 17 bed acute service for women with complex mental health needs and Franklin Ward is our 10 bed PICU service for women which accepts emergency and crisis admissions.
The hospital is built to meet the latest national specifications for improving mental health within a therapeutic environment.
Situated amongst the soft fields and meadows of the Tyne valley, which is known for its abbey, leafy parks, and mix of independent shops, the hospital will provide an important and much-needed service for service users within the North East of England.
As pa
rt of our continued efforts to improve service users care and treatment pathway’s the hospital benefits from a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses across RMN and RGN disciplines, occupational therapists, and support workers.
Positive service user outcomes are at heart of the services we offer at Cygnet Hospital Hexham, we recognise that every service user is different and therefore must be assessed and treated as an individual in the best possible surroundings.
The post holder will be supervised by the specialist Occupational Therapist on site.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 185 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:
We understand the pandemic has brought with it challenging times, and we recognise this may have had an impact on some of your placement experiences. We offer an Occupational Therapy 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills.
